Emmanuel, God with Us!

Matthew 1:23 KJVR Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

This is one of the most revealing scriptures concerning God’s desire throughout time as mankind has known.  Almost all of the world religions have sought to find some way to draw closer to their gods, however; this scripture reveals that God’s desire has always been to dwell with mankind! We see this from the time that Adam walked with God in the Garden of Eden (the place of God’s presence) to the nation of Israel moving through the desert with God personally leading the way in a cloud by day and fire by night…To the time when the temple was established in the middle of nation with God dwelling in Ark of the Covenant…To the time when Jesus (Emmanuel) was born on that night we now call Christmas.  God’s heart toward mankind has remained the same. He wants to dwell with us!  Although, Jesus has physically come and gone, the best news is that He is still with us and now He is in us! Talk about being close to us, how much closer can He be? This Christmas season and all year round, remember that Jesus is with you and He will never leave you nor forsake you!
